FLYING ACES BACK TO .500 AS SHAMROCKS DON'T SHOW. THEY LITERALY DID NOT COME TO THE GAME

The FLYING ACES were juiced to play an exciting game against the rival SHAMROCKS in prime-time at Aspen Ice Arena. It was easily the ACES largest crowd of the season. Even the FLYING ACE EuroVan was filled to capacity with players and fans alike. One problem... The SHAMROCKS didn't show. Do to SHAMROCK scheduling error, there was no game to be played. AIAHL Federal C league Commissioner, Bill Auld, said the game counted as an official win for the FLYING ACES, who came ready to play. The forfeit win put the ACES back to .500 and jumped them out of the Federal C basement and into 4th place. And as we all know, with each ACE win, a 'First Star Patch' is handed out. And this one very deservedly went to first time recipient, Mike Gianetti who, against a strong recommendation from the team trainer, suited up to play despite a serious lower body injury.

Since 'Donnie' Donahue brought an awesome ACE CASE and the majority of the team was there, including Kevin Brown and Steve Leoszewski (up from Perkasie). And the ACES were dawning the new RDS Solution sponsored 'bad guy' Black jerseys. And the crowed needed to be entertained, the ACES decided to take a team photo and play the first ever inner-squad game. It was Team Marcolini vs. Team Donahue. And what a fantastic battle it was. Team Donahue ended up winning 6-3, but both sides played like it was a real game.

The ACES are back at it Sunday, March 15 for an AS Cup battle against those pesky BOMBERS.
