BOMBERS HOLD ONTO CUP, DROP ACES

The FLYING ACES were home Sunday night for an AIAHL, Federal C, A.S. Cup Match up with the BOMBERS.  Captain, Darren Jones, and Kyle Turner were healthy scratches.  Bill Marcolini was out with an upper body injury, and Craig Jones was a game time no show.  Johnson, Brown, and Leoszewski were unavailable for call up from Perkasie.  Healthy scratch Darren Jones loaded the ‘Ace Case’ and had it at EuroVan pick up point Bravo to avoid a possible ‘Ace Case’ Disgrace II.

At Aspen Ice the BOMBERS came strong with their usual band of high powered A.S. Cup ‘Call Ups’.  In the second with a 2-1 lead, they took control of the game scoring 4 unanswered.  In the third, down 6-1, the FLYING ACES, in their new black jerseys, battled back, scoring 3 in a row.  But at 6-4, all hope was lost when the BOMBERS dropped another one on the ACES that left a crater the boys just couldn’t climb out of.  Kevin Smith lead the ACES with 2 goals.  Preston and Lovering also scored.  Ryan Warn had 2 assists.  Gianetti, Petersen and Weaver each had 1.
The ACES are back in action at home tonight for a 10:15 puck drop against the SHAMROCKS.
